Habitat for Humanity, Sarasota
Focus: To partner with God and community to provide decent, affordable housing for people in need so they may build better lives for their families.
Services: new construction/renovate existing houses to provide affordable homes, pathways to homeownership classes
Center for Architecture, Sarasota
Focus: To educate and inspire our community and beyond on the importance of our built environment and how good design, thoughtful preservation and sensitive urban planning inevitably enhance our everyday lives.
Services: Lectures, discussions, gallery exhibits, tours and programs on highly relevant issues including: affordable housing, architecture and landscape design, urban design, and preservation. Education is a key component with our partner, UF Graduate School of Architecture CityLab Program, along with children’s Lego build programs and high school internship programs. In partnership with Sarasota County, we are able to provide these programs in our own newly-restored 1960s building in downtown Sarasota. .
Universal Design Coalition
Focus: Educate and advocate for housing that is designed to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Services: Presentations, educational courses and forums about universal design.
ITN SunCoast
Focus: Transportation for seniors
Services: Membership based private transportation for seniors and visually impaired individuals, scholarship for low-income seniors for rides at a discounted price
Meals on Wheels of Sarasota
Focus: Deliver meals to transportation disadvantaged individuals and families.
Services: Daily delivery of meals to over 500 individuals Monday through Saturday.
