A Road Show is an event in which SCOPE presents community data about all or some of the nine domains of well being covered in our 2015 Community Report Card (demographics, economics, learning, health, natural environment, built environment, culture and recreation, social, and civic participation). Depending on how much time is allotted, there is usually a discussion afterwards.
What is the purpose of a Road Show?
Roadshows are meant to familiarize the community with local data, and reveal how data can help us understand our county better. They are also meant to get people talking about solutions and inspired to take action.
How Long is a Road Show?
We can tailor the length to the time you have available. It can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours long!
Who is the appropriate audience for a Road Show?
We have presented to high students, nonprofits, government officials, any member of the community can benefit from a road show.
Can I request that only specific domains of well-being be covered in the presentation?
Yes. We can focus entirely on one or a few of the domains of well being if you would prefer a more focused presentation. Recently we did a roadshow on racial disparities. If there is data on it, we'll do a roadshow about it.
How much does a Road Show cost?
Road Shows are free of charge.
How big does the audience have to be in order to book a Road Show?
Although the engagement portion of the presentation benefits from having a larger audience (20 or more people), we have presented audiences that ranged from 15 to 60 members.
I am not part of an organization, but I would like to attend a Road Show, how can I find out if there are any coming up.
Go to "Events" and click "Upcoming Roadshows" to see if we are holding any public roadshows in the near future. If you would like to attend, click "RSVP".
